Basketball Recap: Tayshaun Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Riverview Academy of Math and Science over Patel

On Friday, the Riverview Academy of Math and Science Barracudas came up short against the Patel Trailblazers and fell 50-38. The Barracudas were down 46-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Riverview Academy of Math and Science lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tayshaun Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Cook, who posted four points and 17 boards.

Riverview Academy of Math and Science's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Patel, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Geneva Classical Academy the next time they take the court. Patel will host Geneva Classical Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Riverview Academy of Math and Science will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
