The Saranac Lake Red Storm will head out on the road to square off against the Saranac Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Saranac Lake's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
Last Friday, Saranac Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Northeastern Clinton, taking the game 58-45.
It was another big night for Caleb Akey, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mik Denkenberger, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Saranac pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 74-58 fall against Northeastern Clinton. Saranac has struggled against Northeastern Clinton recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Saranac Lake's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Saranac, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Saranac Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Saranac in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 56-45. Will Saranac Lake repeat their success, or does Saranac have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
