Easley is 2-8 against Westside since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Easley Green Wave will head out on the road to take on the Westside Rams at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Easley's strategy against Berea on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Easley blew Berea out of the water with a 70-29 final score. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Easley has posted since December 18, 2023.
Easley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Proctor, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Olivia Gramblin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Westside had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They took down Greenwood 47-32.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiarra Gregory, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gregory has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahrianna Scott, who scored ten points.
Easley's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Westside, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Easley suffered a grim 52-28 defeat to Westside in their previous meeting two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Westside's Makyhia Paul, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Now that Easley knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
