After three games on the road, Germantown is heading back home. They will take on the Houston Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Germantown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Houston is ranked 120th).
Last Tuesday, Germantown came up short against Memphis Central and fell 57-48. That's two games in a row now that Germantown has lost by exactly nine points.
Meanwhile, Houston earned a 55-42 win over First Assembly Christian on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Houston.
Houston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna lee Avery out in front who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Avery has scored at least 25% of Houston's points. Another player making a difference was Marissa Henderson, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Germantown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Houston, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.
Germantown ended up a good deal behind Houston in their previous meeting back in January, losing 64-46. Can Germantown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
