Baseball Recap: Altamont Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Altamont hadn't done well against Piute recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Longhorns blew past the Thunderbirds 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Keaton Huff made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Huff was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Briggs Wall, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Harrison Lounsbury, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory was the third in a row for Altamont, bringing their record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Piute, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Coming up, Altamont will square off against Wayne at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Piute, they will head out to face off against American Heritage at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
