The Western Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Atherton by a score of 30-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Western has suffered yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Western lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aubryonna Durrah. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Durrah is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was SaNyah Harrison, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Western smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 11 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Western's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Atherton, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
