The Midway Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forestburg. While losing is never fun, Midway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1393rd, while Forestburg is ranked 678th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forestburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alli Cisneros, who scored 12 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cisneros has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brenna Briles, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds.
Midway dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Forestburg, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-6.
Midway will head out on the road to square off against Prairie Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Forestburg, they will be playing at home against Gold-Burg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gold-Burg comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
