Plants and Pillars HomeSchool fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Jefferson County Christian Royals on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of 73-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did back in December of 2023 (61), Plants and Pillars HomeSchool still had to take the loss.
Jefferson County Christian was led to victory by Ben Adams and Mark Jenkins. Adams scored 21 points, while Jenkins scored 24 points along with five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Adams has scored at least 25% of Jefferson County Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Lee Gump, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Plants and Pillars HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jefferson County Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Plants and Pillars HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Jefferson County Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against East Liverpool Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
