Crisp County is 1-0 against Columbus since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Crisp County Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Columbus Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Neither Crisp County nor Columbus posted many points in their last games could muster much offensive firepower in their last games.
Last Friday, Crisp County lost to Carver at home by a decisive 24-7 margin. Crisp County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Crisp County saw an underclassman step up: Deshaun Fedd picked up 216 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Columbus' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Thomasville, falling 51-0. While losing is never fun, Columbus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 387th, while Thomasville is ranked 118th).
The losses dropped Crisp County to 4-4 and Columbus to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Crisp County against Columbus in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 52-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crisp County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
