Even though Luther scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Portledge still came out on top. Portledge took their matchup against Luther 70-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Portledge.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Anthony's beat St. Dominic 56-50 last Friday.
St. Anthony's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Connor Mannix, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mannix has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Vieux, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Portledge's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for St. Anthony's, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Portledge suffered a grim 60-40 defeat to St. Anthony's when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Portledge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
