The Great Plains Lutheran Panthers will face off against the North Central Thunder at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Great Plains Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
Great Plains Lutheran was handed a 24-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Northwestern Area on Thursday. Great Plains Lutheran narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Northwestern Area 26-23. The victory was just what Great Plains Lutheran needed coming off of a 69-45 loss in their prior matchup.
Great Plains Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Holmen led the charge by scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Madeline Prahl, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, North Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Northwestern Area by a score of 51-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Central.
Great Plains Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for North Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Everything went Great Plains Lutheran's way against North Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Great Plains Lutheran made off with a 55-29 win.
