Brunswick Academy extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 16-5 in the process. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Kenston Forest Kavaliers. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by eight runs or more this season.
Emily August-Faith King was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Aubrey Lynn Corum and Caylen Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Corum went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Jackson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most doubles Corum has posted since back in March. Sienna Lee also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Brunswick Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenston Forest only posted a batting average of .167.
As for Kenston Forest, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-6. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this match were averaging 3.7 runs allowed.
On Kenston Forest's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Palyn Marker (2027), who went 2-for-3 with one double.
