Volleyball Recap: Eastern Alamance Takes a Loss

If Eastern Alamance was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Graham on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Southeast Alamance Stallions on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since September 18th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-15.

When it comes to explaining why Eastern Alamance lost, don't look at Gracie Jenkins. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and two aces. Jenkins has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Southeast Alamance can attribute much of their success to Sadie Trembley, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Trembley has posted over her last seven matches. Annistan Silver also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Eastern Alamance's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Southeast Alamance, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Eastern Alamance didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Western Alamance on the 13th. As for Southeast Alamance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Graham on the 13th.
