It was a good run, but the Los Angeles Romans unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 73-48 defeat to Manual Arts might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Los Angeles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 695th, while the Toilers are ranked 297th).
Devin Moody was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 38 points and 14 rebounds for Manual Arts. Moody has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last 19 times he's played. Kyle Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Los Angeles' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for Manual Arts, they pushed their record up to 25-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
