Basketball Recap: Hough Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hough entered their tilt with Lake Norman Charter on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Lake Norman Charter Knights 67-45. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 62-52 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Hough had a senior duo take command as Evan Otto went 7-for-10 en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks and Judah Freeman went 7-for-12 on his way to 18 points. Thanks to that strong game, Otto now owns an excellent 40.6% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Freeman, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points and seven boards.

Hough smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Norman Charter only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Major Leak, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Smith iii, who earned eight points.

Hough pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Lake Norman Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Hough has already played their next game, a 60-46 defeat against Hopewell on the 14th. As for Lake Norman Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-40 win against South Rowan on the 14th.
