In what's become a running theme this season, the Waverly Wolverines gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 79-35 victory over Chenango Forks. The victory was nothing new for Waverly as they're now sitting on five straight.
Chenango Forks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Walker Paske, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Stephen Samsel was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Chenango Forks struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Waverly has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Chenango Forks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waverly will take on the Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Lansing will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Chenango Forks, they will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Morris Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
