Baseball Recap: Mundelein Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mundelein came into Wednesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wheeling Wildcats a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Baris Brua tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Caden Earing was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Dan Stricklin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mundelein always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Mundelein's victory bumped their record up to 22-10-2. As for Wheeling, their record is now 13-21.

As of now, neither Mundelein nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
