The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Piedmont. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (58), Forest Hills still had to take the loss.
Forest Hills' loss came despite strong showings from Jahmarion Mingo and Amari Melton. Mingo scored 19 points, while Melton scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mingo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kj Chambers, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Fred Little was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Leaks, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Forest Hills' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-6. As for Piedmont, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-7.
Forest Hills will head out on the road to take on West Stanly at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Stanly has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 337 points over their last four games. As for Piedmont, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Central Academy at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Central Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 last Friday.
