Knoxville Catholic rang in the new year with a 67-56 victory over Tri-Cities Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Knoxville Catholic also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Cade Murphy was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from deep and dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Caleb Asbaty was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Knoxville Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Tri-Cities Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.
Knoxville Catholic will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Baylor at 6:30 p.m. Baylor is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Tri-Cities Christian, they will challenge Webb at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Webb will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
