The Cranbrook Kingswood Cranes will be playing at home against the Greenhills Gryphons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cranbrook Kingswood has six straight wins, the Gryphons have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Cranbrook Kingswood didn't have too much trouble with the Fighting Irish at home as they won 48-32. Given Cranbrook Kingswood's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cranbrook Kingswood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Brown led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Yasmyn Palmer, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Greenhills, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-26 loss to the Knights on Friday.
Cranbrook Kingswood's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Greenhills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
