De La Salle extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 7-0. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Amador Valley Dons 56-13. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
De La Salle had a senior duo take command as Brady Smith rushed for 97 yards and one TD on only five carries and Brayden Knight threw for 93 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jayden Nicholas, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
De La Salle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 268 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.
De La Salle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dylan Scott, Jmo Mitzel, and Alex Lordan picked up one apiece.
As for Amador Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while De La Salle is ranked fourth).
