The Swan Valley Vikings won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were dealt a 60-14 defeat at the hands of Frankenmuth. While losing is never fun, Swan Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Eagles are ranked 12th).
It was another big night for Mia McLaughlin, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Frankenmuth. Another player making a difference was Clare Conzelmann, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Swan Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Frankenmuth, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Swan Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Bridgeport is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Frankenmuth will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
