Lockport won against Bradley-Bourbonnais  on Wednesday with five  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. The Porters had just enough and edged out the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers  5-3. The  victory was nothing new for the Porters as they're now sitting on three straight.
Lockport got a great performance from  Matt Fox as he  tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits. Fox has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.

 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Justin VanderTuuk, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  him a new career-high.  Zack Skrzypiec also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Lockport pushed their record up to 16-8 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Joliet Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lockport will challenge Lincoln-Way West at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Porters 4, the Warriors 2.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Joliet Catholic, they will face off against Carmel at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
