The biggest upset of the week belonged to Silverado, who took down 364th ranked Burroughs, 41-30. Kyle Trammel in the win.
The Hawks moved up to 375 from 428 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Desert Sky. Silverado climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Burros 41-30.
Barstow's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tracy Venable threw for 55 yards and Devonte Tate had 55 yards receiving. On the ground James Noble chipped in 151 yards.
Victor Valley's Eric Turner and Davondre Jackson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Turner has thrown for 1013 yards this season, while Jackson, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 35 catches for 550 yards. The Aztecs' Noble leads the league in rushing yards with 1632.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Barstow takes on second place Silverado. Last week, Barstow topped Hesperia, while Rafael Ginorio's team beat Burroughs.
There should be lots of points scored when Mike Esposito's team and the Hawks face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Aztecs comes in having scored 196 this season, while Silverado has scored 182. Barstow scored 20 points last week as it defeated the Scorpions.
The Aztecs and Hesperia played the most hotly contested game in Desert Sky this week, with the Aztecs eventually emerging with a 20-17 victory. Noble in the win.
