Lyndon extended the longest winning streak in Flint Hills this week by beating Northeast, 70-14. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Lyndon took down the Vikings 70-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Josh Owens ran for 206 yards in the win.
Owens provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Rod Stallbaumer's team beat Northeast. Owens' favorite target this week was Dawson Swinehart, who caught 2 passes for 50 yards.
Owens made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Tigers defeated Phil Hobbs' team. The 6-foot-0 senior pulled down 1 interception and recorded 2 fumbles.
Litke Tucker put up the best numbers in passing as Northern Heights beat Herington. He finished with a total of 6 completions for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tucker's favorite target this week was Chris McWilliams, who caught 5 passes for 130 yards.
On the heels of Joe Walsh and Owens, Lyndon has had great success on offense. Walsh is tops in the league in passing with 1,293 yards, while Owens has rushed for 1,401 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Chase County's Brendan Watts, with 539 yards on 36 catches.
Next week's game between the Tigers and the Wildcats will feature a good passing match up as Walsh will test his arm against Colton Schumann's defensive ability.
