Greater Vision Academy put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hickory H 80-53 at home. With Greater Vision Academy ahead 47-25 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Greater Vision Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Johntez Raspberry led the charge by scoring 15 points along with two steals. Tobius Baker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Gospel Light Christian earned a 61-54 victory over Liberty Preparatory Christian on Tuesday.
Drake Walker was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Samuel Sisk, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Greater Vision Academy pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.6 points. As for Gospel Light Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Greater Vision Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 70.8 points per game. It's a different story for Gospel Light Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 58.8 points per game. The only thing between Greater Vision Academy and another offensive beatdown is Gospel Light Christian. Will they be able to keep them contained?
