The Ironwood Eagles waltzed into their game on Friday with 17 straight wins but they left with 18. They blew past Willow Canyon 73-52. Ironwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Ironwood to victory were I'yar Shadowvine and Blake Carabio. Shadowvine dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists, while Carabio scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Shadowvine continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Gifft, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braylon Haman, who scored 19 points along with five steals. Haman is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kaleel Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Ironwood's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Willow Canyon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-5.
Ironwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Willow Canyon also has no future games currently scheduled.
