The South Hills Scorpions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell to Irving 34-28. South Hills lost against Irving in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 46-18 score last time.
Taliah Martin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Irving, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Martin has scored at least 25% of Irving's points. Alondra Villa was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 4 steals.
South Hills' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Irving, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
South Hills will square off against Brewer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Brewer's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. Irving will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Adams at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th.
