After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Chardon, Steele was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They blew past the Avon Lake Shoremen 10-2. Considering the Comets have won seven matches by more than seven  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Karina Shuster was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 13 batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  RBI.
 In other batting news, Steele got a  massive  performance out of  Nevaeh Sadler, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with four  stolen bases and two  runs. Those  four  stolen bases gave  Sadler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Samantha Pearch, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run and four  RBI.
 Steele  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Avon Lake only posted  an  OBP of  .200.
Steele's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Avon Lake, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steele will host Strongsville  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Avon Lake, they will face off against Olmsted Falls at 5:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
