Basketball Recap: Berean Christian Takes a Loss

Berean Christian lost against FAU High back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Berean Christian Bulldogs fell 60-48 to the FAU High Owls. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Berean Christian still got an impressive performance from Derek Vasquez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Vasquez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alyk Smith, who posted seven points.

FAU High's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarret Mauvais, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 19 points. Jason Sauveur was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Berean Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for FAU High, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Berean Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Highlands Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season. As for FAU High, they will square off against Boynton Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
