The Gregory School Hawks can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 73-39 win over St. Augustine Catholic on the road. The victory was nothing new for The Gregory School as they're now sitting on seven straight.
The Gregory School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Razin Smith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Dawson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
St. Augustine Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Peter Dogbegah, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Dogbegah has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Lance Marchessault was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The Gregory School pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
The Gregory School will head out on the road to square off against Ray at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while The Gregory School is ranked 99th). As for St. Augustine Catholic, they will be playing at home against Chandler Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
