The Taft Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Wasco Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Taft will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Last Friday, Taft was able to grind out a solid win over Chavez, taking the game 34-25.
Cameron Cash had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 57 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Blaine Neudorf and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Taft's win.
Wasco fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Delano 27-7.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 4-4.
Taft was able to grind out a solid win over Wasco in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 31-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taft since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
