The Tonopah Valley Phoenix will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Highland Prep Honey Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Tonopah Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Highland Prep is ranked 134th).
Last Wednesday, Tonopah Valley had to suffer through a rough 92-23 loss at the hands of Yuma Catholic. Tonopah Valley has not had much luck with Yuma Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Highland Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 69-16 win over Mountainside.
Tarrell Green continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohen Hill, who scored nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Tonopah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Highland Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
