Raymondville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Garza, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Garza is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games he's played. Colt Cavazos was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Grulla has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. As for Raymondville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-22 record this season.
Grulla will head out on the road to challenge Jubilee Brownsville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Raymondville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hidalgo at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hidalgo is coming into the match with three straight wins on the road, meaning Raymondville will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
