Terre Haute North Vigo got a massive performance out of Kenzie Zigler, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Zigler has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Amelia Kelley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Terre Haute North Vigo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Sullivan can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Greencastle an 8-0 shutout.
Calli Stearley looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rachel Eslinger was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallie Howard, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Terre Haute North Vigo's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Sullivan, their record is now 12-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Terre Haute North Vigo hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Sullivan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.3 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Terre Haute North Vigo suffered a grim 25-11 defeat to Sullivan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
