The Omak Pioneers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Cascade Christian by a score of 21-14 on Friday.
Cascade Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Tangen, who rushed for 104 yards on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Jackson Almond, who picked up 20 receiving yards.
Even if they lost, Cascade Christian's defense sure didn't make it easy: Omak's QB was sacked eight times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Omak's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points per game. As for Cascade Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Omak has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Deer Park at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Deer Park will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Cascade Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Klahowya at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Klahowya will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Cascade Christian is ranked 112th).
