NorthWood and Northridge are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The NorthWood Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Northridge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. NorthWood is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
NorthWood stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past South Bend Washington 56-14 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-0.
Nitro Tuggle and Landon Perry were among the main playmakers for NorthWood as the former picked up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Trevor Barrett got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Northridge can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wawasee 49-20 at home. Northridge pushed the score to 49-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Wawasee cut but never quite recovered from.
McClain Miller had a dynamite game for Northridge, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Brayden Clark was another key contributor, throwing for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.
NorthWood's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Northridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
NorthWood came up short against Northridge when the teams last played back in September, falling 25-21. Can NorthWood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
