Even though the Owatonna Huskies have not done well against the Austin Packers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Owatonna walked away with a 67-59 win over Austin. Winning may never get old, but Owatonna sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Owatonna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Olson, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigial P Shornock, who scored 15 points.
Owatonna's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Austin, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Owatonna will be home for the holidays to greet Winona at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winona has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Austin, they will head out on the road to face off against Faribault at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
