The Medina Mustangs will finish 2023 at home by hosting the East Rochester Bombers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Medina sitting on three straight wins and East Rochester on six.
On Wednesday, it was close, but Medina sidestepped Maryvale for a 53-51 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Medina to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Moss, who scored five points along with six rebounds and five steals. Moss also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrell Nealy, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
East Rochester has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 26 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 78-19 victory over Clyde-Savannah. Given East Rochester's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Clyde-Savannah is ranked 602nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Medina now has a winning record of 3-2. As for East Rochester, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
