Eastern Guilford hasn't had much luck against Atkins recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Eastern Guilford will head out on the road to take on Atkins at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Guilford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.

Eastern Guilford proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Rockingham County 3-2. While Eastern Guilford didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

J'Nya Purcell and Kendra Staten scored all three of Eastern Guilford's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Atkins kept a clean sheet against Southern Guilford on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Storm. Atkins haven't had any issues with Southern Guilford recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The win was the third in a row for Eastern Guilford, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matches. As for Atkins, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Eastern Guilford suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Atkins in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Eastern Guilford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
