This season hasn't been kind to the Wheeler County Bulldogs, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They fell 38-31 to Bacon County on Friday. Wheeler County lost against Bacon County in their previous head to head last Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-30 score last time.
Bacon County found their leader in underclassman Marnay'jah Reynolds, who scored 20 points along with eight steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Reynolds has scored at least a third of Bacon County's points. Chelsea Madison was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Wheeler County bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Bacon County, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.
Wheeler County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dooly County at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Dooly County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bacon County, they will head out on the road to face off against Irwin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
