Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Dallas). Everything went their way against the Roosevelt Mustangs on Friday as they made off with a 24-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
North Dallas got a massive performance out of Luis Garcia, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. Garcia has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximino Santa Maria, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Garcia wasn't the only one making solid contact: North Dallas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. That's a new trend for the Bulldogs: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.4.
North Dallas pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
