The Eek Cougars lost against the Kongiganak Wolverines back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Eek's tough 54-30 defeat to Kongiganak might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eek in their matchups with Kongiganak: they've now lost three in a row.
Leading Kongiganak to victory were Maegan Miller and Mariah Tinker. Miller scored 12 points, while Tinker scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Gracelyn Miller, who scored six points.
Eek's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Kongiganak, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Eek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kongiganak will head out on the road to face off against Kwigillingok at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kwigillingok is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
