For Falkner, this counts as revenge for the 55-0 defeat Myrtle walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2020.
Falkner's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Wooley, who threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Wooley hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Kane Floyd and his 82 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Falkner's win.
Falkner's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Myrtle and 1-8 Alcorn Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.8% over those games).
