BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Blue Springs (Mo.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Wildcats upset Lee's Summit (Mo.) 63-21.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Dalvin Warmack in the first quarter, the Wildcats were up 57-13 at the half.
Blue Springs grew its lead to 51 points entering the fourth quarter. BS scored once in the quarter on a
Cobi Bissell touchdown run.
A 36-point second quarter helped the Wildcats secure the big victory. Blue Springs scored on a Warmack touchdown run, a defensive touchdown, a defensive touchdown, an
Ian Brown touchdown pass to Prewett and a touchdown pass by
Darron "Blane" Howell to Prewett in the quarter.
Blue Springs' standout player in the win was Prewett. He caught three touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lee's Summit, who notched a 24-0 victory over Liberty in its previous outing. The loss snapped Lee's Summit's two-game winning streak.
