Eagleton College & Career Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Oneida on Tuesday. The Royals put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 13-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jayce Simon and Jack Kidd made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Simon tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Meanwhile, Kidd didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Simon went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Kidd got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Willard King, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Eagleton College & Career Academy is undefeated when King posts two or more runs, but 3-9-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Cope, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

The win (which was Eagleton College & Career Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 12-9-1. As for Oneida, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Eagleton College & Career Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-2 loss against Heritage on the 16th. As for Oneida, they have also already played their next game, a 7-0 defeat against Newton Local on the 17th.
