Mineral County is 5-0 against Sage Ridge since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Mineral County Serpents will be playing at home against the Sage Ridge Scorpions at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Mineral County put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Coleville 73-53. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Mineral County as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mineral County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Stinson, who scored eight points along with ten assists and eight steals. It was the first time this season that Stinson posted eight or more assists. DeVayne Isom was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Sage Ridge came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Whittell, posting a 60-25 victory at home. The victory was just what Sage Ridge needed coming off of a 60-32 defeat in their prior game.
Mineral County's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Sage Ridge, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17.
Everything came up roses for Mineral County against Sage Ridge in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 79-45 win. Does Mineral County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sage Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
