Rock Falls is 1-9 against Sterling since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rockets will welcome the Golden Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Thursday, Rock Falls beat Dixon 4-1.
Zoey Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Rock Falls' win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kacie Witherow, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Witherow has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Rylee McFadden was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sterling got themselves on the board against Alleman on Thursday, but Alleman never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Pioneers. The result was nothing new for the Golden Warriors, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kaity Taylor was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Lira, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Sterling was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alleman only posted a batting average of .111.
Sterling's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rock Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 10-18.
