It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears can now relate to. They suffered a tough 36-14 defeat at the hands of the Bears on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Pharr-San Juan-Alamo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jorge Alanis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Brennan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micai Thompson, who rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jason Love, who gained 119 total yards and two touchdowns.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Brennan, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
