The Our Lady of Tepeyac Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 39-28 to Catalyst-Maria. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Our Lady of Tepeyac of the 42-33 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Janiyah Shelby, who scored 16 points for Catalyst-Maria.
Our Lady of Tepeyac dropped their record down to 1-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Catalyst-Maria, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Our Lady of Tepeyac won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ida Crown Jewish Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Ida Crown Jewish Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Catalyst-Maria, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Holy Trinity at 5:00 p.m.
